For many years the varsity boys’ soccer team has had a really good goal keeper, but this year the varsity team has been searching for one because no student has had good skills as a goalie

After 4 years of being in Alliance Academy International Nick Whitehead has been a really talented senior. He is one of the most talented basketball and volleyball players at the school, but this semester he tried out a new sport, soccer.

Many people know that Whitehead’s best sports are basketball and volleyball, but he also wants to learn how to play soccer as the goal keeper of the varsity boys’ soccer team.

This past February 27 was the soccer try outs for the varsity team and Whitehead tried out his new skills as a goalie.

“I have a lot to learn, so I’ll try my best for the team.” Whitehead said.

This will be the first time that he is going to play soccer, but the varsity team was searching desperately for a goal keeper, so Whitehead was the one who wanted to be the new goalie this year, even though soccer is different from volleyball and basketball.

“I like soccer because it is a very fast game and takes a lot of skill and athleticism.” Whitehead said.

According to Coach Torres, Whitehead will be a very talented goalie. Because he is talented on basketball, his skills will be very effective on soccer.

“Whitehead has good hands and he reacts very fast to the ball.” Coach Torres said.

This next week the Varsity Soccer Team will have their first soccer game so, the school should go and encourage the soccer team and their new goal keeper.
